About Brandi Pearce

Having battled Crohn’s Disease for most of my life and undergoing 82 abdominal surgeries, I knew I wouldn’t be able to carry children of my own. After a successful surrogacy resulted in our son, August, years later, we wondered how to explain to August that he was getting a new brother who was growing in someone else’s belly.

As my husband and I were telling August about surrogacy, we realized there needs to be a book out there that explains that families can be created in many different ways.

Mommy’s Oven is my debut children’s book.  I want other parents to be able to teach their own children that every family creation is unique and special. I want to inspire hope in overcoming adversity and true miracles with this book.
